SUMMARY:Workshop - Barriers and Facilitators of Virtual Tumor Boards and Digital Transitions in Europe
DESCRIPTION:The eCAN Plus Joint Action is a flagship EU project in digital oncology and cross-border health data exchange\, with a focus on improving cancer prevention\, treatment\, and follow-up care strategies. As part of this effort\, Work Package 6 (WP6) focuses on collaborative clinical decision-making in diagnostics\, treatment\, and care across Cancer Centres (CCs). Clinical and technical experts are invited to join the expert board created by this WP and join the in-person workshop that will start next June 17th in Denmark. \nExperts from across Europe\, with strong background and activity in Virtual Tumor Boards (VTBs) and Digital Transitions (DTs)\, will meet in Odense from the 17th to the 18th of June. The purpose of this workshop is twofold: \n\nAssess existing national guidelines\, European Health Data Exchange (EHDS) regulations and frameworks for digital collaboration and health data exchange across CCs mapped by WP6.\nDefine the relevant clinical data required to support two use cases. WP6 will evaluate digital capabilities for health data exchange and virtual collaboration\, based on two use cases:\n\nUse of cross-European Virtual Tumor Boards\, including Virtual Molecular Tumor Boards.\nDigitally facilitated patient transitions\, including the use of Discharge Conferences.\n\n\n\nInteractive Sessions\, a VTB Simulation (active Roles and participants)\, and DT-focused presentations will be the main theme of the Event\, accompanied by Keynote Presentations\, including both Clinical and Technical Experts in healthcare\, while encompassing aspects on compliance with the EHDS and opportunities for integration with the European EHRxF format. \nThe program and more details will be shared with the attendees.
